All of us know about the tragedy that had struck Varanasi yesterday after the serial bomb blasts. Every one-including politicians, religious leaders, general public have shown distress and concern for the mishap. Compensations are being given to the victims, the people who got severed in the tragedy and the dead.
The gesture is a considerate one. But how far can money compensate for a life!? Isn’t it sad, the way things have been shaping up themselves in the past few years? Religion has taken priority over humanism…But have we ever given it a thought that why is this the scenario?
Should religion supersede humanism? Aren’t we to be blamed for the happenings in one-way or the other? Have we reasonably prioritized between religion and humanism? Have we not given religion more value over humans?
Today it is Varanasi, tomorrow it would be some other religious/sacred place. Action will have a reaction. It is a vicious circle, which has no end to it but needs to be overcome immediately.
There is scope in everyone of us to change and as “Charity begins at homeâ€, everyone of us has a duty towards society and humanity to change in order for the society to change as a whole and for the society to become free from all ill feelings.
No religion preaches inhumanity and killing of people. But today things are perceived in a way which apparently is very ridiculous: if anyone has to get their demands fulfilled, they take to the path of violence. They land up causing injury and pain to common and innocent people but isn’t it cowardice?
Everyone has developed a person specific approach, be it politicians, media or the so called critics. The politicians gain, the news agencies gain and the people discuss without converging to a conclusion.
Is this what the constitution makers had perceived for India when they had penned down India as a secular state!!!???
Riots, bomb blasts and any kind of repercussion has made people to prioritize and place religion in the front seat. But should it be happening this way?
The need of the hour is to draw a visible line between religion and fanaticism and to act as humans first. For it is only then that each one of us would be satisfied enough to have done their bit towards improving the society and it will make a remarkable difference which we all will feel and lets hope for it to arrive as soon as possible!!!

This is a National Shame !! Indeed a big blow to India’s communal hormony.
The attack coincides with dangerous attempts on the part of the Samajwadi Party and the Left to pander to hard-line community opinion. It may be recalled that the two parties have been successful in demonstrating a powerful green veto on policy issues…
These are the questions which will be remain unanswered. Soon some other issue will comeup and cover all…
