Good move.. as we progress more towards online systems the taxation hussels will be reduced. I know people who dont mind paying tax but are afraid to get caught in front of everlasting “upper” demands of tax inspectors and officers. Thus they try to hide from Tax System altogether.

If this is implemented and whole systems are made online (like Delhi ROC just did) there can be more people who will put there trust onto the department that they will be not harrassed unduly.

right inititives taken by ministry and dont forget to thank the IT industry for making all this possible.

This is a good move by the department. Now atleast people can see whether the money deposited by them reaches the exchequer.

Adding on to the idea of publishing the information online, the Income-Tax Department today said Oracle Corporation would consolidate the department”s existing regional databases into a single national database, a move that would enable mass processing of returns, speedier issuance of refunds, and electronic-filing of returns on a wider scale.

Thanks
