Sensex surged ahead and set a new all time high of 10,753 points on the Bombay Stock Exchange. It surpassed the previous record set on March 3rd . The majority of purchases came in the shares for cement, banks, engineering and auto companies with Reliance, Satyam, ACC, Wipro, L & T etc. recording significant gains.
The Sensex gained 179.83 points and was at 10,753.31 at mid session on Friday, March 10. The wide based National Stock Exchange Index NIFTY gained 52.2 points and was at 3,181.8 points.
The Bombay Stock Exchange’s benchmark index on Friday shot up by about 116.66 points in the first five minutes of trading due to massive bullish buying by foreign companies and funds. The BSE’s sensex opened at 10,581.64 and surged to 10,690.20 points a rise of 116.66 points.
The Major gainers are L & T, BHEL, HDFC, Grasim, Bajaj auto, Tata Motors, Maruti, Hero Honda and the like.
It appears that the market will have a bullish tendency over the coming days.
