Very righty said!! Our Police should definitely concentrate more on other bigger issues and heinous crimes rather than troubling the love birds. Folks, i fail to understant what actualy is the Police trying to prove by this operation majnu???

In a directive, 2 years ago the Honourable Supreme Courts passed a decision asking the cops to stay away from the couples in the park unless and untill they dont indulge in any sort of shameless behaviour. But i dont think that sitting in the park, talking or holding hands should bother the Police department.

Its high time that WE the poeple of India change our mindset. We can no longer afford to live in the pre-historic era. Yesterday, the Canadian High Court passed a judgement allowing all those clubs and social circuits to function where consenting adults indulge in group sex or swapping sex. The court said that when two consenting adults engage in any sort of activities they know what they are doing and its not a threat to the society. I am not asking us Indians to go that far but still i beleive that we should give the Lovebirds atleast some respite.

Operation Majnu is a direct infringement of the rights of the citizens. As Indian citizens we have been given freedom by the Constitution. Unless and until ones acts are harmful to others, the police has no right to intervene with anyone’s personal life and freedom. Operation Majnu took to task all the couples who were seen together at a public park. The act of the Meerut police was very much derogatory. The way Operation Majnu was carried out is not at all justified. It is true that certain acts of the couples are sometimes embarrassing but if they are together and are not indulging in any kind of indecent act, there is nothing bad with the same. The law does allow booking of people indulging in indecent acts and if people are breaking the law, they need to be pulled up. But there certainly has to be a procedure to the same, the couples should first be warned and then only should be booked for their indecent acts. The worst part is that even Delhi Police approves of Operation Majnu and plans to have a similar drive in Delhi too…and calls it moral policing!!!. Instead of booking helpless and harmless couples the police should aim towards the ones who are harmful to the society at large; they should rather target the MAJNUS and not the docile couples. Majnus everywhere should be booked in order to curb the crimes against women, which are definitely on the rise. So only the name of the operation was correct but not the procedural part!!!…

Absolutely!I totally and whole heartedly agree with the above written thoughts!!And i guess, not only me,but everybody on this earth having even a little brains will agree with these thoughts.

Who the hell on this earth has given police the right to stop two indivisuals from exercising their fundamental rights????The way I live my life is nobody’s business!I guess, they have never heard of the phrase “LIVE AND LET LIVE!”

Its high time the people of this country stop having DUAL STANDARDS!!!!its not only irritating but also immoral and unethical.Who’s gonna question our RESPECTABLE police force about the fact that how can they start such MORAL POLICING in our society when the policemen themselves have been involved in so many rape cases in the past few months???!!!!

Please tell them all to get hold of serious criminals and beat them to death and leave poor love birds on their own!

I think excess of every thing is bad.so if some thing is done in limits it wont effect either the police nor the society.so even the lovebirds has to be in limits or else many a times it also leads to rapes & gives rise to many other crimes.
