India’s nuclear experimentation in Phokharan in 1998 which raised many a eye-brows from the west and more particularly from the United States of America. The incident led to President Bill Clinton stopping various grants to India and severing trade ties with India. It took India eight years from then to achieve what it wanted to achieve – ‘being able to call itself a responsible nuclear country’.
Today India can call itself a responsible nuclear country. The nuclear deal struck between India and Unites States of America is a welcome step for the development of our country says Head of Department Nuclear Energy. This is going to increase the electricity production from nuclear energy by two folds, he further added. It was obvious that both the countries were willing to accept each other as partners but there were few practical glicthes in it. Finaly the conclusions were reached that India would open up 14 of its 22 nuclear reactors to international inspection though the scientific community were against it but acceptable figures were arrived after long deliberations.
And History was made.
The other side-on benifits of Prez Bush’s visit was grants for Aids research and duty waivers from both sides. But President Bush’s visit has enraged a furore in diferent parts of the country. Demonstrations were held from Delhi’s Ramlila Maidan to Lucknow’s Aminabad. The demostrations in Lucknow took a bad turn when the mob turned into a riot killing one person and injuring several others. It led to lathi charge and throwing of tear gas by the Police.
The Visit of the US Prez has invoked mixed reactions. It shot the sensex up by another 66 points leading to a sharp rise in the prices of defence and power related stocks. On one hand experts are happy that the nuke pact entails a guaranteed supply of fuel for indian reactors. Further India shall have access to US nuclear technology. On the other hand there are demonstrations and processions. People hurting and killing each other while trying to express their anger over the Bush visit. Are these demonstrations politcally motivated? Do people know what are they really doing? I fail to understant why is there always a furore in our country whenever something good happens.

All they think of personal popularirity. Where we are heading??
People protesting bush visit are not at all concerned aboiut our country. They find out a chance to get immence popularity in foriegn media. There are processions, banners and violence across the country. Why???
The deal with us will make India an independent nation without the tag of “developing nation” It can take its own decision to counter the trrorists.
Protection of your country is not inhuman. Bush take right decision to abolish terrorism and protect people of America. where is the harm?
These so called human rights activists and people like Shobha de, Arundhati Roy and so on ever understand the core?
Al;l of them are Cheapstiks. They can do any thiong to get popularirity. When it comes to take real decisions about betterment of country, they disappear.
I am not a Congress man or supporter of congress. Honestly I am anti congress. But, the thing happened to our country during this give me a ray of hope that our country can fight too.
Please support Bush and Manmohan singh. India is badly affected with terrorism and other issues. be a true Indian and let india become a truely independent nuclear nation. People worship power, not a weak country.
