Senior Management and Middle Management @ ICICI Bank received promotions in the last quarter and now the false news is being spread that no promotions will be offered? Now to whom the promotions will not be offered, the junior employees??? The spine of the bank??? Who work for average 12-13 hours a day??? Even the top management employee, because of whom there were losses on mark to market hedging/derivatives got the promotion…and a hike. Employees should be communicated at the beginning of the year if they will be given promotions and bonus…for the year…………… There is a 3 month notice period for the employee and from the day employee resigns they are not paid salaries…

IFBI Story…Young graduates are lured by the ICICI brand name and the bank collects about 70K for the training which lasts only about 15 days and they are put on the branches in the name of on job training…they are paid 6-7k monthly and the bank gets work done @ the cheapest possible labor rates…even a BPO pays an average salary of 10k for 8 hour shift. Hey investors listening?…the company which sucks employee’s blood makes massive profits…so there is a opportunity for you to buy ICICI shares…for greater returns… Is Kamath and his ladies listening???

I entirely agree with you. Why because even i think the same and because, i am an employee of ICICI group. The statement i want to make is, what about employees who have performed well and so expecting a promotion? I have myself done over achievement in terms of targets and still not promoted. Secondly, why should the employees be taking these setbacks when they have no stake in windfall profits? And i disagree with the observatin that competitors will not give 30% hike to genuine candidates. As the reason why they are leaving is because they are not getting their due hike and promotion from ICICI.

Dear Kishore,

My sincere concerns with you. The 30% hike thing applies to an average performer. I agree with you that the opportunities’ for a top performer are galore..But at the end of the day, how many how performers are there in an organization ??

You are right that high performers may get a hike in the range of 30-40% but the real sufferers are average performers…

Thanks & Regards,

I think even there is competition among prospective employers. Say and ICICI employee gets offer letter from one employer saying 30% increase it can go to other and say hey i am getting 30% in xyz bank what are you offering

So it may not work as your say

My sincere concerns with damnfool !!

Mr. Ashish,

He may get a hike of 30% and show the same letter to ICICI but do you think, the bank is going to retain him? Life is not so easy. Had it been so, ICICI would not have announced no bonus and no promotion. If an average employee gets 30% hike and leaves, ICICI is least bothered to retain him…

I am an ex employee with this Bank. Now the HR is in a job axing spree. There is Performance (Mis)management system (PMS) and the rating given to employees are not justifiable. Employees are given ratings at random and now EMPLOYEES GIVEN A RATING OF “5″ ARE FORCED TO QUIT. More than a 1000 employees have been sent out till date. Poor chaps are sent out crying. People who are still working are working with fear about losing their jobs. I hope that this situation is because MR.Ramkumar, the HR Chief, has not been given a Executive Director Status.

LET US ALL COME OUT AND SUPPORT THE EMPLOYEES OF THIS BANK.

Its a very risky move. Sometimes industry pressure and overall high demand of resources of similar nature will not affect employee retention at all. The company would fail to retain its good employees unless they plan to give out a bonus or increment, which they don’t.

This can be an option when downsizing.

What ICICI Bank has done earlier, many other banks are doing today. For example Kotak Mahindra Bank reducing grass root level employees by hundreeds every day. The game plan is simple, the employees are being singled out, then they sighted some small mistake comitted by the employee ( it may have occured 8/9 months back) and threaten the employee with immediate termination if he doesn’t volantarily resigns. In most cases the trick works, however in exceptional cases where the employee does not resign different tactics are adopted. The victim is then transferred to a remote place without any salary hike. Next he is served with show cause. Then he is grilled. Basically life is made miserable. the old dirty game. Yet these organisations very proudly boasts of being the most employee friendly organisations in the industry. The top management will always lap up the cream, take all decisions wether right or wrong, consolidate their job with a 10% salary reduction in times of recession and kick out the bottom rung employees to cut losses. Conveniently forgetting its the bottom rung which gets the bottom line!!!

Hi 2 All,

ICICI Q4 FY 08 – 09 net drops 35% as retail business weakens

Just guess what will happen this time. ..

But still I feel Sr Mgnt is also aware that there were no Bonus, Promotions, allowances since last 3 yrs … person joined in the organisation 6 yrs back is earning only 12 – 13 k ……….

I think Sr mgnt should look into removing the junk from the org and create oppoutunity for young minds.

Also PMS should be on the Quarterly basis … which will help bank’s performance and also will encourage the Employees…

Fingers Crossed .. as i am an employee.

Madhu, ICICI Bank Employee

Dear All,

I am just thinking why didn’t i read all these comments way back.
Well i am tired of this organisation & many others like me are in the same situation.
We have turned into slaves of this organisation.
The top management enjoys all the stuffs & the junior employees “the slaves” work for them.
The next PMS will be my 4th PMS with ratings with 1 rating two times but still to get any promotion.
It would have been better i would have gone for some public sector bank. At least i would have got time for my family and also would have better salary(after 6ty pay commission).
Here i have loosed all my social responsibilities bcos i just get time 2 go and sleep at my home.
This policy of the bank will take it nowhere.
Due to dissatisfaction in employees the customer service standards have fallen drastically.
There is so much to write or i can complete a book on this bank which is not a bank but only a sales organization with little interest in banking.
Every customer who enters the branch is cheated with false commitments & sales pitching
The only man who is gaining is Mr. Ram kumar who has been elevated to ED(The only man to be promoted in ICICI Bank in last 2 years)

God Bless ICICI Bank!!!

Dear Friends,

We know that there are no promotions and no bonus, but due to market bad positions we have to consider the same.

We have many hard working and talented employees still working in the same bank even they get offers from many banks.

That is spirit of ICICI bank, we love the brand name and so we are part of it and PROUD OF IT.

I hope the Management will measure our PMS in a good way and give the best in the industry.

thanks,
We Beleive, So We are…………..

I am an old customer of ICICI Bank and has no hesitation in agreeing that the services of the Bank has drastically affected. The newly appointed employees learn at the cost of customers. Most of them, I found are highly stressed. The officers at BM level are never seen working. The Bank should immediately reduce working hours, somewhere between 43 to45 hours a week. The highest authority of the Bank should realise that if the employees are not happy, they will not keep the customers happy.

I think all the top management/ Branch Heads of ICICI Bank should be shown Rocket Singh Sales Man of The Year, as they are always pushing their officers & AM’s to do the sales without any care of their customers. I pity on these AM’s as they haven’t got any promotion for last 3 years and just rubbing their as…. for sales and sales. All the best to workers of ICICI Bank employee for 2010 PMS….

ICICI was one of my loving companies…………

Not now. It’s becoming waste of time for me to do the slavery job…
Its more than 3 years now and iam still hoping…

All the last 3 years…. people to retain has been retained… departments where it is required has been promoted in bulk….departments who needs to be given bonus has been given….Sssssh it went silently so that other departments dont get the info

Harvards review has proved that growth of the companies is limited if they stick only to Cutomer first…. and growth in unlimited for those who follow Employee first……….
Who knows whats in the minds….. this year also some deparments has got their huge bonus with no sigh over the other deparments….

Lets wish for good and lets remain with the hope for some more months…
