It is official now. I hope by now all of you are aware of the news – Hutch is now Vodafone. I was anxiously waiting to see the new advertisement of Vodafone and no sooner did I reached home yesterday than I sat glued to my idiot box. While ‘Pug’, the brand ambassador of Hutch is already there, the tune of Hutch (You and I, in this beautiful world) has undergone a slight change in background music. The way Vodafone is promoting the brand is really commendable. A company with huge marketing spend can only afford to carry out such a massive sales promotion. All the slots on star TV from 9 PM yesterday evening to 9 PM (today evening) are blocked for Vodafone. When a company is following such an aggressive and omnipresence attitude, it is difficult for its target audience to miss the advertisement. Whether it is cream business newspaper of India (Economic Times) , India home page of any website or Television, they are everywhere to make the consumer aware that pink is now red and hutch is now Vodafone.
