In a bid to improve margins and operate profitably in a segment that is seasonal in nature, the soft drinks industry has asked for abolition of the Special Excise Duty (SED) of 8 per cent on aerated soft drinks in the forthcoming budget. Though the industry sources say that the argument is fairly simple but do you really think that an industry which already over spends only on marketing and advertising deserves a duty cut ??

exactly.. i also feel on the same lines. if the industry pros are so concerned with their declining margins why cant they compromise on the marketing war going on..
