Some say Size does matter and others say it doesn’t. I am a member of lots of interaction groups of Chartered Accountants and very often young and aspiring chartered accountant come up with many doubts and queries. Recently i got a mail from someone which i am reproducing below :
“hi
Can anyone help me to wipe out my mental trauma…?
I am a student from final & just started my articleship , my firm doesnt have any big name on their client list , but i have got good exposure in all type of works. But my only worry is that since the CA firm is not too famous and big and neither it has very good audits to boast about, would it affetc my prospects in future???
Does the size of the firm always would be a deterrent in my career after qualifying.??
whether a rank in final would compensate if yes up to what extent.??
This gentlemen is only one of the thousands of young aspiring professionals who are apprehensive and confused. I would like to tel all of them is that the Size of the organisation does matter but it doesnt matter too much. What matters is how much have you learnt in your work and how you shape up your career. I have seen people completing their training from very small firms and yet rising to the highest ranks in large professional companies. If we observe, we can see that it is their hardwork, confidence, abilities and the knowledge of their work which has propelled them to heights.
If you are able and your fundamentals are strong and you got the right approach and attitude towards the work, you are destined to be successfull. You just need to plan out your career. You have to know where you are and where do you want to reach in few years of time.
Further i would like to add the old but true saying “Hardwork and dedication is the key to sucess.”
Goodluck to all the young and aspiring Chartered Accountants.
