The sensex has crosses 10000 mark and is still going at a steady pace. It has comfortably added close to 110 more points and it like to open on a positive note on monday too. Yet there is concern among investors as to how long will this bull run continue. There is a lot of speculation on when would the corection come and how much would the market get corrected.
Experts say that there the market might see a correction for a couple of weeks but in the long term the bull run will definitly continue. In an interview with CNBC-TV18, Investment Guru Marc Faber said that a bull run can continue for 15-20 years too. (awesumm).
Well if that really happend with the Indian market then sky is the limit for the sensex. He said that India has seen bear run from 1993 to 2003 for continous nine years. He added that just like a bear run, bull run too can have a longer spell. Citing the famous Japanese example he said that bull run continued in Japan for 19-20 years.
Marc Faber explained that India had a bear market from 1994 to 2003 in dollar terms. The index in logo currency terms didn’t go down but in dollar terms it went down. So India had a nine-years bear market. But if we start from a long base then the bull markets can also last for a long time. The bull market in Japan lasted roughly from 1970-1989 and in the US it lasted from 1982-2000. So the bull market can easily be 10-15-20 years long. A bear market can also last for 20 years.
