Bosch has officially launched its first manufacturing facility in India. This facility is exclusively for common rail high-pressure pumps, used in diesel cars. The launch was successfully conducted in Bangalore and also promised further expansion of its presence in the country.
An investment of Rs.1, 800crore in India between 2005 & 2008 has been endorsed by Bosch, of which Rs.550crore would be used towards setting up & expanding common rail system production in Nashik & Bangalore.
The all-new production line in Bangalore has an initial installed capacity of around 1, 000 pumps per day. Bosch has also been manufacturing common rail injector components at its Nashik facility since the beginning of 2006.
