Karnataka Cabinet has finally offered a green signal to the proposal for setting up a biotech park on a 106-acre plot at the Electric City at an approximate cost of Rs.103crore. This is a step that will be taken to fillip the sector.
The part A of the project will cost around Rs.14crore and will turn in to a potential construction of a building for institute of Bioinformaties & Applied Bio-technology & the center for Human Genetics, hostel building, other facilities. The project will also include administrative building for Karnataka Biotechnology & Information Technology Services.
Part B of the project costs Rs.67crore and would emphasis on construction of a biotech incubation center & common incubation center & common instrumentation facility.
